Students on the Wine Master’s Course visit Terre d’Oltrepò and La Versa

BRONI - About forty students, mostly foreigners, on the "Vintage" International Master’s Course and the "Grapevine varieties and terroir" course as part of the Viticulture and Enology Master’s Degree and Internship at the Catholic University in Piacenza run by Professor Alberto Vercesi visited Broni winery, Terre d’Oltrepò and then the legendary La Versa wine cellars in Santa Maria della Versa.
The purpose of the tour was essentially to visit the facility and to listen to information on the group’s wine making. The students visited the pressing, wine-making and storage facilities of both companies, before then stopping at the La Versa cellars where the Metodo Classico or Traditional Method wines are kept.
The visit ended with a tasting of the Metodo Classico and Charmat bases from the 2018 harvest, focusing on the differences between the two production methods, before the sparkling wine-making and bottling processes.
