Rolling hills, incredible landscapes

ALWAYS SUITED TO WINE

A REGION THAT STIRS EMOTIONS

“A province shaped like a bunch of grapes”: the famous journalist from Pavia, Gianni Brera, described the region with these words. This was due to its shape and its most important calling: making wine. 62% of Lombardy’s wine is made in the Oltrepò Pavese. There are 13,550 hectares of vineyards and it runs along the 45th parallel shared by the major wine-growing regions around the world. The Metodo Classico or Traditional Method was developed here and it has always been the capital of Pinot Noir, Riesling and Croatina. We are nestled in this unique environment, easily reachable from the major cities of the north, featuring inviting, rolling hills dominated by castles and fortresses. In 40 B.C., while passing through the Oltrepò with a Roman legion, Strabo noted how this region was full of “good wine, friendly people and very big wooden barrels”.
